How to use carbohydrates:
- To increase energy reserves before exercise (increase carbohydrate intake): mix 50–75 g of carbohydrates with food or drink and use 1–2 hours before exercise.
- For increasing glycogen stores: use 0.5 g of carbohydrates per 1 kg of body weight 4–6 times on "carbohydrate-rich" days.
- For a sports energy drink (to increase energy levels during exercise): dissolve 50 g of carbohydrates in 500 ml of water.
