BCAA's include amino acids such as L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine. They belong to exogenous compounds that must enter the body from the outside, either with the daily menu or in the form of food additives, since the body is not capable of synthesizing them on its own. BCAAs make up approximately ⅓ of muscle-building proteins, and unlike other amino acids, their breakdown occurs primarily in skeletal muscle, making branched-chain amino acids desirable for physically active people.
